SUMMARY
Served as an Officer in the U.S. Air Force for over seven years. Experienced in public affairs, contracting and recruiting procedures with emphasis in: office administration, journalistic writing, media and community relations efforts. Since separation from the military, has continually worked as an independently contracted performing artist (separate resume below), while also gaining experience in superbly performing customer service/satisfaction objectives often working 2-3 jobs while also performing.
EXPERIENCE
Administrative Assistant/Executive Secretary – School of Dance, University of Utah
February 2017-present
Responsible for the front office of the School of Dance (SoD), answering questions and assisting faculty, students and guests in all facets of academic life at the University.
Oversees the scheduling of the Marriott Center for Dance for classes, student rehearsals, meetings and other activities. Responsible for finding spaces outside of the MCD for meetings and classes (to include catering, set up and tear down.)
Maintains detailed calendar for the building and the personal calendar for the Director, SoD
Manages and schedules building maintenance and security for the Marriott Center for Dance
Reallocates accounts and retains records for eight departmental credit cards and prepares them for audit
Serves as point person for building property (capital and non-capital) and key audits
Accurately processes travel paperwork for all SoD faculty, staff and guest artists. Prepares documents for College-level and Vice-Presidential level review and signatures before final submission.
Works with University Scheduling and Continuing Education to plan each semester’s Ballet, Modern Dance course offerings.
Assists students with class registration and credit change problems
Produces audition materials for check in and adjudication for both programs, and authors acceptance, rejection and various letters and other correspondence to auditioners from audition to the first day of class.
Retains student records for all 200+ students of the SoD to include printed and digital paperwork
Liases for the Directors of Graduate Studies to assist MFA candidates assess their academic requirements for graduation
Trains and produces daily workload for front office student clerks
Creates weekly announcement e-mail for students, faculty and staff. The information source for the School

Sold and scheduled individual & season tickets to Utah’s most highly attended live theater boasting nearly 30,000 season ticket holders. Assists patrons in show, seat and performance decisions as well as theater/arrival logistics.
Provided key assistance in other box office areas to include courtesy calls to season ticket holders about renewals, patron database maintenance, helping patrons in the theater with various needs, and light custodial work

Authored original story ideas and edited the base’s newspaper on a weekly basis..
Deployed to Iraq as a Strategic Communication Liaison in support of long-term joint planning efforts for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Multi-National Forces-Iraq.
Selected to for a special duty assignment as Operations Officer (overseeing 12 functional areas), and a vocalist for Tops in Blue, the Air Force’s expeditionary entertainment program.

Authored and maintained major contracting programs, solicitation packages and acquisition plans for one of the largest fighter wings in Europe, specializing in service contracts and large unit acquisitions.
Was the lead Air Force contracting officer for a multi-national exercise at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey
Heralded as most versatile by commanders. Frequently and successfully took on projects outside of the daily duties to include public affairs actions for the base’s 50th anniversary celebration and overseeing the building renovation for the squadron.

Conducted market analyses, developed automated lead management systems, creatively gave briefings, and produced advertising to locate and attract quality applicants to the Air Force’s officer accessions programs in 4 New England states. These detailed actions lead to a 40% increase from previous year; was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal
Creatively managed calendar and travel arrangements meeting recruiting/budget goals, saving hundreds of dollars. Personally attended a record number of college fairs (over his predecessors) to attract quality scholarship candidates.
